Inspired by nature and a wanting to honor its magic, a Forest, then creates pieces are sort of miniature love letters. Small bone and insect taxidermy strives to gently memorialize the creatures it comes from, wall hangings hope to be reminders of the flowers and skies. Illustrations pull from the things loved by the artist, as well as the more difficult to describe things within them. Experimenting in a few mediums, some decorative and some functional, everything is lovingly created and printed in their Salem, MA studio.
About:
Cass (they/them) happily lives in Salem, Massachusetts with a revolving door of cats. Tattooer is their day job, and a Forest, then is the umbrella under which they create and experiment with other mediums. They are also Salem Cat Aid, where they rescue, foster, have a cat food pantry for Salem locals, and provide assistance and advice with the goal of reducing the stray population and surrenders.
